Zoono (also called Zoono Microbe Shield or Zoono Z-71) is a unique antimicrobial product derived from technology originally developed by German scientists during the 1930’s. The active ingredient was initially developed to control the spread of microbial infections and prevent algal growth and until the end of World War 2. After its incorporation in 2009, Zoono Group Limited identified other fields where Z71 could be effective. However, the base technology still had several inherent problems including a methanol stabilising agent, short shelf life and the reduction of efficacy outside a relatively small temperature window. .
The technology was re-engineered by chemists and scientists in California and New Zealand. As a result, Zoono products now have a shelf life of up to 3 years. In addition, sanitisation methods maintain efficacy over a wide temperature range. To top it all, Zoono products are now water based, so they meet the stringent food safety legislations of national government agencies.
Today Zoono Z71 is the 9th generation of the original Zoono® technology and provides antibacterial, anti-viral, anti-fungal and anti-algal protection of a broad-spectrum antimicrobial sanitiser that continuously kills for up to 30 days.
